Within their commercial processes, AC6 Metrología make several types of e-mailing: promotional bulletins, information on training courses, or customer quotation tracking.
Beta Lyrae developed an application that allows configuring and sending personalised mass mailings. From their own customer listings,
obtained within AC6 as Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, and by content templates generated by AC6 staff using common applications as Microsoft Word,
the system can manage mailings to selected recipients, using variable values for each message. This way, the tool allows users to create
e-mail messages in which recipient is greeted by his/her name, or a specific quotation number and/or date is inserted.
Its client - server architecture allows users, once mailing has been configured and checked its result via the Preview utility, pass the mailing to the server part. This is where e-mails are sent, with a pause between them so as to avoid being considered spam. Each e-mail is recorded on a database, with its date of creation and status, so that the user can check at any time which messages have been sent, and which ones produced errors (e.g. because of outdated addresses).
The client part, the one directly operated by the user, is a desktop Java application, packed into a statdard Windows executable. The server part is a minimal Java web application, that can be hosted on a LAN server, or on an Internet server.
