The system

The Electronic Parts Catalogue (EPC) gives machinery designers, manufacturers and dealers (including industrial machinery, automotive or complex tools, just to give some examples) the possibility of offering their customers and/or technical support teams the complete technical information on their machines, tools and spare parts, referenced from a graphical exploded view.

Users can view and search the complete spare parts and machinery data, place orders directly online or ask for quotations, all of them minimising the errors usually produced when using complex references. Available information is updated directly by the machinery manufacturer, with no need of any computer related staff in the operation, in a really simple way.

• Integrated order processing and quotation request sends customer communications direct to the manufacturer using forms and formats specified by the manufacturer on standard file formats like PDF, Microsoft Excel, CSV, XML or many other that can be imported by external systems like BAAN, SAP or other ERPs.
• The system works 100% online: data are stored securely on Internet servers, following the "cloud" model, also known as SAAS (Software as a Service). There is no need of any software installation, for the manufacturing company, and no implication on their IT or security processes. If desired, Beta Lyrae will host the complete EPC system and data on our servers, thus removing any infrastructure need for the manufacturer.
• Manufacturer staff can define filters on the information each user can access, with the possibility of restricting access of specific users to specific data.
• Their staff can also add and manage users who can enter the system, being able to ban their access if needed.
• Also, staff with no need of specific IT knowledge can add or modify the information offered in a very simple way.

• Users can access directly the whole technical information the manufacturer offers them. They can search and view error-free all of their machines and applicable parts.
• The system is completely multilanguage, thus users can use it in their preferred language (English, German, Chinese...).
• Users enter the system using any Internet browser (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, etc.), the EPC being a website. This removes any need for specific training, maximising the ease of use for any kind of user profile.
• EPC exports standard PDF and Excel formats so that users can inlcude the offered information into their daily work.
