EUSKARA KULTUR ELKARGOA ( BASQUE CULTURAL ASSOCIATION) is a foundation which was created in Iruña-Pamplona in 1998 with the aim of promoting and defending the Basque language and Basque culture in Navarre.
EUSKARA KULTUR ELKARGOA organises seminars for debate and contemplation, forums, conferences, publishes papers and books, and takes part in school-registration campaigns, etc.
As a part of its strategic plan, the Foundation launches a web site on which to publish news related to its activity, press references, articles etc.
Collazos Comunicación, with Beta Lyrae and Álvaro Barcelona graphical designer, create the Foundation web site, in which
a powerful adminstration tool is included with which Foundation staff can:
All of it within the multilanguage orientation of the website, that is, all of its content is offered in any of the three languages (Euskara, Spanish and English) users choose.
Website users can benefit from a wide variety of tools, like their own defined favourites within the site, the possibility to send news by e-mail, obtaining news in PDF format, or offering their own translation of any news that Foundation staff had not translated to one of the three languages available.
This is a web application built on the Java Enterprise platform, able to cope with a high number of users. The system has been working since 2002.
