Background

Club Atlético Osasuna is one of the 20 clubs currently playing in Spanish Football Top Division (LFP).

Tajonar is Osasuna's football academy, which brings together all the Club's youth teams, and in its facilities they train and play. Together with different services and professionals at the Academy, Osasuna was searching for an IT system for all the information used, being its main aims:

• Improving and facilitate the work of managers, coaches, doctors, physiotherapists... generally speaking, to all the academy staff.
• Ensuring data quality and security
• Giving Tajonar professionals the possiblility of obtaining reports and reaching conclusions based on data generated over the years.

The system

To achieve this, Beta Lyrae proposed building a web application to which each user has the access permissions, both to functionalities and data, established by his/her own profile, that is, by his/her position at Tajonar. This way, to bring some examples, coaches will have access to certain information regarding his/her team's players, being able to enter training and match data, get reports on screen, or in PDF or Excel format, attach documents to players or training sessions, etc. Intensive use of AJAX technology is made, so as to benefit from its speed, flexibility and safety.

Different data are stored, among many others complete match reports (minutes on the pitch by each plater, substitutions, goals, bookings, noteworthy incdents etc.), as well as training sessions with all the information regarding each exercise made.

Exea Comunicación took part in the graphic design and usability of the system.

Technical Specifications

This is a Java web application, deployed on a Linux server. The system can manage concurrent access of a big number of users.

Due to security and privacy reasons, database contents are encrypted automatically, so that even entering the database servers, no data can be accessed by an unauthorised user.

Founded 1920, Club Atlético Osasuna is one of the historic members of Spanish Primera División (currently Liga BBVA). They took part in Eurpean competitions (UEFA Cup, currently Europa League) several times.

Osasuna is deeply commited with developing its own talents, and thus developed one of Spain's most impotant football academies, Tajonar Football Academy.
